So... where do Storm Mountain patterns get their name?
The goal of Storm Mountain Designs is to make patterns for real uses by real people in the real outdoors. And you cant get more real weather than at Storm Mountain in Canadas Banff National Park.
Storm Mountain is smack dab on the Great Divide of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and is renowned for its unpredictable weather. (Could that be why its called "Storm" Mountain?) If you cycle it, it will be hot and sunny on the way up and cold and rainy on the way down. (Or, if youre lucky, its the other way around!) Take a hike on the trails around Storm Mountain, and you better pack sandals, fleece socks, gaiters, and neoprene boots! And dont forget to pack an extra fleece, wind jacket, tank top, sunscreen and blanket! Get the picture?
Our wonderful Canadian outdoors has inspired us to create patterns to help it remain a wonderful experience, no matter what the weather. And, in keeping with our Canadian Rockies theme, each pattern is named after life in the real outdoors.
Wondering where the name came from? When you see our Canadian Rockies hiker icon beside a pattern just click on him and find out more about the name. He looks like this:
