The basic Kids Unisex Tundra Tights pattern is ideal for use for sports activity leggings, everyday wear, as well as great long underwear.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS

A high quality stretch fabric such as nylon LYCRA , COTTON LYCRA blend, or SUPPLEX LYCRA . For warmer tights or long underwear applications a fabric of POLARTEC fleece with LYCRA knit with it is ideal. The fabric MUST have at least 25% stretch in a least one direction. (I.e. A 20 cm piece should stretch to 25 cm without permanent distortion). If you are using a fabric with much greater stretch, a smaller size may be required to get a better fit. (Remember to alter the crotch and leg lengths if needed!). The maximum stretch should go around the body.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

All fabrics are 150 cm (60") wide. Amounts in Metres (Imperial in brackets). Out of 150cm (60") wide fabric, you will get more than 1 set of tights out of the width! Extra fabric required if you alter length.

NOTIONS

Elastic- For sizes 2 - 6, 19mm (3/4") non-roll elastic. Cut to waist measurement less 2.5cm (1").

For sizes 8 — 14, 25mm (1.5") wide good non-roll action elastic. Cut to waist measurement less 5cm (2 ")

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Ensure that size is chosen correctly by comparing ALL measurements before cutting. This sizing is based on 15% stretch in the fabric around the body and 10% stretch in the leg length. If you are using regular Lycra, you may need to choose a size smaller due to the increased percentage of stretch in the fabric.
