#508 - Banff Cap
Banff Cap

A great hat for all ages. The webbing band makes the size adjustable and adds a great decorative touch. Difficulty level of this pattern is low, this pattern can be made by beginner sewers. (Advanced sewers can make it too!)

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS

FOR ALL SIZES :

25cm (10 inches) of a high quality non-pilling polyester fleece such as Polartec®200 or Polartec®300 . At 150cm (60 inches) you should be able to cut at least 2 hats from one width of fabric.

0.75m (7/8y) of 25mm (1") wide polypropylene webbing

1 — 25mm (1 inch) Tri-Glide

SIZES:

This pattern will fit a wide range of kids and adult head sizes.

Remember.....kids have large heads!

Finished hat band size is adjusted by tightening the webbing through the Tri-Glide.

It ranges from 40cm (16 inches) to 61cm (24 inches).

By shortening the webbing on the Tri-Glide side the hat can be made a further

5cm (2 inches) smaller yet but we suggest that you make this adjustment after the hat is assembled.

FLEECE NOTES:

  • Good quality polyester fleece does not need pre-shrinking. If you got yours from the bargain bin pre-shrink it to be on the safe side. Wash in warm water and hang to dry or tumble dry on low heat.
  • When gently pulled along the selvedge or lengthwise grain, good fleece will curl to the best side. This is the side we want to be seen. Mark both pieces so you don't get them confused!
